Question water in the back of convertible

I was wondering if anyone out there has advice on what to do or how to keep water out of the back of my car. I have a 2000 mustang and every time it rains there is a pool of water in the back where the convertible top collapses down into. I just got it last month and is still under 3,000 mile 3 month warentee. I took it back to the car lot I got it from and they took it to get fixed, but I still have this problem. They said they had drainage tubes that could have been clogged up. Is this normal for a mustang convertible? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Was wondering if you ever solved the leaking top problem.

I have a 2000 Mustang GT and bought it brand new. It just started leaking the other week. I can see it running down the back of the inside of the window. Both sides - on either side of the back window - inside the car.

I can hear water sloshing and the passenger seat underneath is soaked.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Zath

Default Bad news

I have a 2002 vert, which thankfully does not share this problem.

I suggest looking into the drain tubes (one of each side, I believe) and blowing them out from underneath with compressed air. If clogged, you can have water pool there. However...

I believe both of you have a problem with the top itself where it fastens under the metal trim that conceals the raw ends of the body and top. Drop the top and look closely around the perimeter - if you have any tears, there's a problem. This is a common wear spot (if you ever raise your top with foreign objects like sticks or screws lying there, you can make a hole), and the first place I'd look. Run your fingers (carefully - there might be something sharp under there) around this trim and see if you can spot any holes. I really don't know what to use to repair any holes, but there are some vert. top repair kits out there...

Luck!

Ok, it may be the drain tubes. Don't know yet. Am going to get it checked out tomorrow. Where are these tubes though? Never heard of them and have been trying to search around on the net and in manuals on their location.

Thanks,

Zath
