Saturday and Sunday were the days of the Saskatchewan air show here in Moose Jaw. Some of you may know the stunt team Snowbirds they are stationed here. I went to see the airshow on Saturday and it was great My favourite part was the stunt team The Masters of Disaster they fly 3 bi blanes one of them has a jet engine on it and man does it sound funny when you hear the sound of a prop go by and a second latter here the roar of that jet. But sadly on sunday the three of them were reinacting a WW1 dog fight the 2 non jet powered were supposed to pass each other and the jet power one came through the middle. As it was comeing up the middle it kit one of the other planes and exploded killing both pilots Jimmy Franklin and Bobby Younkin on impact. The team was stationed in Montanna i believe and they had another show coming up soon and they have back up pilots that will still fly . This air show was also the 35th anniversary of the Snowbirds and in memory of the snowbird pilot that died last year.

You know it is kind of funny how most people around my age (17) always go to the airshow saying how cool it would be if there was a big crash or something but when they see it they realize just how serious it is. I bet alot of the younger people i saw on the news with the stunned/frightened faces "wanted" to see a crash. well atleast now they see just how bad it is.

I've seen the Blue Angels twice and the Thunderbirds once, and I'm always amazed at how tight their formations are; especially the Angels. All it takes is one tiny mistake and you have a tragedy like that one. Sorry for all involved.
