Great drag racing fun on the weekend Well we just came back from our annual Dragfest (me and my brother Frank (GT50) He finished third in the sporstman class .
It was a lot of fun and a great way to run you car legally. I met other Ford guys as well as the devoted GM and Mopar fanatics. It was all in the name of fun. I have to say though the lack of " ricers" surprised me. Most of the cars (95%) were rear wheel drive V-8's.
So I have not done a thing to my car since last year. I basically had more experience and learned how to do a proper burnout and experimented with my shifting and air pressure.
I netted a 14.19 e.t. and (2) 14.27 runs respectively. Those were my best runs of the day.
Considering last year my best e.t. was 14.53 I had definitely learned a bit. The only mods I have are in my sig. 3.55's and BFG drag radials and traction bars. I think I had some respectable e.t's considering the car is stock otherwise.
What I did learn though is to listen to what other tips people give you (when racing)and see what applies to your vehicle. Every car is different. Try things out and see what works for you . It's too bad I can't practice as it's only a once a year event.
Well it was proof for me that improving your e.t's starts with the driver.
I haven't posted in a while I just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
