I go wakeboarding every sunday morning, its a ritual , and an addiction. Anyways I have found if I get to the lake around 730 ish the water is perfectly smooth which equals great riding and perfect setups for doing cool tricks to impress the ladies.
Anyways the lake was dead, only a fishing boat and a jet ski out there with us. So i booted up and jumped in. Got warmed up and started cutting out and jumping the wake. For the last 2 weeks I have been working on two things 1. Clear both wakes . 2. get big air and flaunt it. Well my first few jumps were a few feet off the water, had to get used to it first , After about 10 minutes of riding I was ready. My first attempt I popped off the wake and went about 6-7 feet in the air, So i grabbed the board with my han and threw my legs out in front of me so my back was parallel with the water and then returned to my landing stance. I stuck the landing. Well i decide to try and clear both wakes. I got my speed up came into the wake and felt the board pop off the wake and to my surprise i was actually going to pull it off. I landed just on the other side of the wake, but not sure footed enough. I landed in a sqaut position with my butt skipping across the water, i could feel the heel side of my board sliping out so i threw my weight forward to correct and over compensated and the toe side of my board caught the water like a parachute. i faced planted, so hard in fact that all i remember is realizing i was under water and swam towards the surface, once i broke the surface it took me a good minute to realize where i was. I had no idea what i was doing in this lake until I saw my wakeboard floating about 20 feet away from me.
But despite the day ending witha small concusion it was a great day of boarding for me. Now I might want to invest in a helmet....

Maybe you should send a vid to the MT DEW ( soft drink ) people and see if they would run a wake board commercial . :thumbsup They used to run some extreme stunts in the advertiseing before .
The helmet sounds like a good idea . Maybe a life vest too .

Oh trust me I have a life vest. Cost me 100 dollars. and it isnt Coast Gaurd approved! Sometimes you have to sacrifice peace of mind for functionality. It floats okay but it doesnt try to float off of you like the big bulky ones do. It is a great way to meat ladies too.
Went on the lake today again and man, there was a guy out there that was throwing down some serious tricks made me look like a newbie at it. But hey I still got more whistles from the ladies than he did though, not sure why though.
Another good day no bad injuries today though.

Yeah just went out today after work and got a few runs in , wont be able to go this weekend , I have to go to Florida. But it was a sweet day. I was getting sick air and landing it. I am stillhaving trouble clearing the wake from one side to the other. My friend went out there for the first time in a month and tried it and nailed it on his 3rd attempt. Thats cool though he can fly like me. I tried a superman and aborted it halfway through. I felty like I couldnt get my feet to point back towards the water so i let the rope go..... Yeah definetely landed on my feet but with out the rope to pull me I just stuck the landing and sank. But hey I landed it and thats all that I care about.
Still havenmt got a helmet yet

Wow!!! No longer had a good day at the lake but a consecutive 5 days that were great days. I have been boarding every day after work since Tuesday. It shows too. I am now landing across both wakes with ease. I am grabbing the board in the air as if I was born doing it. I still havent mastered the Superman yet. Working on it though. The guy that we usually see out there is damn good at it and he rode with us Wednesday night, kid is 18 years old and he has got talent on a board. He taught me quite a bit and it actualy helped.
Thursday night was good was boardig with a storm approaching and when the lightning struck in the distance it would make for a great picture of me getting air ( too bad I didnt have the camera.)
Today wasnt as good a day though. On my second run I was going through a turn and and I shifted my weight to the toe side of the board too fast. Wouldnt have hurt so bad, but in a turn the boat has to increase speed in order to maointain a constant tension on the rope and to create a perfect wake. So I was going into the turn at 23.5 miles an hour and halfway through the turn at 28 miles an hour I FUBARed my trick. Board caught toe side and before I could think about it I slammed face first into the water! Happened to be in the busiest cove too, I managed to get the board off of me before I started to feel a wave of pain shoot down the right side on my face and neck. I had to be pulled out of the water by my two friends who were with me. I couldnt open my eyes for about 5 minutes do to the sheer pain it brought.
I dont remember anything after taking off the board, I just remeber being in the boat and not being able to sit up without feeling light headed. Probably suffered a slight concusion . But hey it wasnt enough to keep me from strapping the board and vest on an hour later only to land a perfect indy to crail board grab. Maybe it fixed something.
But hey that was the first bad wipe out I had in those 5 days so it was due. Just wish I had been able to see it coming.

Heres some pics of me at the lake today. My dad came with me and took the pics so i could see what I look like while I am boarding. The water was red color due to the fact that it is a channel from one of the rivers dumping into the lake.

Thanks for the compliments. I have been working on for the last few months. I have about 4 weeks left to ride after work, then we get daylights savings time so I will only be able to ride on the weekends. Hopefully land my superman(known as a ralley) before the end of thsoe 4 weeks.
