Mustangs listed in Auto trader

I’ve been thinking about placing a ad in autotrader.com. Is really worth paying $40 bucks
for a picture and a detailed description of my car in there ads….

Has anyone sold there mustang on that site

I have sold a couple of early Corvettes on that site, but I would try your local papers first because with the cost of gas people want things close to look at. For me it works because I get 40 calls from dealers that purchase for customers or for a showroom but I don't see that happening for our Mustangs yet other than the local market dealers.

i hear ya, i put my stang in two of our local papers around town but at 25 and 36 bucks a week its getting expensive(yes that is the cheapest listing of theres). On the bright side i did put my car in two free hand out papers called the thrifty nickel and the starshopper at $5 bucks a week...

I've sold many a car via autotrader, even before their internet listings. Try it - I bet you move that car quickly if its priced right. Some tips:

Also post a price. You get better response that way, even if you are planning to haggle to reach a final cost. My own method was to compute what I wanted to get based on all the book (edmunds, etc) guides, plus any extras I added. So long as I was somewhere between "private party" and "dealer" pricing, it was not hard.

AutoTrader is the best price you can find for the exposure you get. I listed my 2000 V6 in there and it was sold within a month. Use a detailed description, and take the "List until Sold" option.

I bought my car off an autotrader listing back in 2000. I think you'll have success. There are alot of dealers on there, so you'll be competing with them. Be agressive on your pricing. Put as many pictures as you can online. Its worth the extra $$ to post more pics.

serius buyers pays a couple of bucks for an Autotrader ad and the B.S.ers look at the internet cuz it free.

I use Autotrader alot and never had problem selling. But I do notice cars thats been there for ages. The reason for that is, owners that try to get top $$$$$$$$ for their POS.
