I had one when I was a young boy and they can be fun. It's really cool to watch them swim. They swim just like alligators.

Here is a tip: Don't let him eat only lettuce. Mine didn't want to eat his other veggies and only ate Romane lettuce. He died from malnutrition because lettuce is basically nothing but water. Make him eat his veggies!
