Default got ripped off @ a local shop

so there's a shop here locally... i use them alot... used to have great prices, i needed my door pins replaced on my fox, just one side they told me they could do it for 170 cash (canadian dollars) i went in with the door jammed and i couldn't even open it... they said they could do it all, about hour and a half, come back about an hour later, they have the door open but don't have enough time to do the pins and want 60$ for getting the door open (turns out the handle was ****** up and it was just REALLY stiff that one time, it happed a few more times and i fixed it myself by pulling on the handle really hard) so i paid 60$ for them to open the door, and btw, i had the passenger seat out for this aswell...

i go back a few more times... pay them total @ the end, i am sure about 260-300$ they have replaced 1 pin and that's it... one of the times i went i was there for 4 hours they claim they put in 8 hours of work on the door... i call bullshit... i went in today, changed both upper and lower myself, with sht tools in about an hour...

so i went back to the shop today and they offered me 60$ off of a mid pipe with cats (reg 100$) and a free door handle... i think this is still bullsht... the other shops around here sell mid pipes for 60-80$ usually around 75-80.

SO! the question is! is 60$ towards an H pipe with cats and a door handle worth it do you think? (keep in mind this is also canadian money) i could use both but don't need them...the cats i need to get through a smog test we have here... and the passenger handle is broken but still works... i can't think of anything else i need... other than motor mounts but i doubt he would have a set of solid motor mounts instock... he's mostly used parts...

Not only did you get ripped off, you also got $h!tty service. If they knew they were'nt going to have enough time to do the whole job, why they tell you they could get it done. They suck a$$ in my opinion.

yeah that's what i was thiking, they did say that the pins got jammed and had to be ground out (which i did spend alot of time grinding...) but there welded in anyways aren't they?

oh and i don't have recipts for anything, but the guy is willing to compensate me somewhat... i just don't think a door handle and 60$ off of a 100$ mid pipe is fair... what would you guys ask for?

I don't know if you are good mechanically but the pins on the door are not that bad to change out as I did mine on my 89 Gt....next time I would suggest maybe doing it yourself by asking other members for help....I ordered mine from 50resto.com and it didn't take me too long to do it....now you know why I try to do things on my own because of horror stories that I hear all the time...I don't like anyone touching my car unless I am present and watching it

The only way to combat bad shops and cr@p service is to NOT spend anymore money there, that is the language that business` understand.
