I am thinking about getting a Mustang but I decided not to for one reason. Insurance rates. I'm 30 and have a family and a clean driving record. My insurance company quoted me at over 400 a month for an 03 GT with a performance pack on it. Price was right but the insurance wasn't. What's the deal? Can't a guy catch a break? On the flip side, I have a brand new 06 GMC Envoy XL with every option you can get and my insurance is 89 bucks a month. I don't see what gives. What do you pay?
Wow, I pay more for my 93 Subaru then your 06 Envoy. Insurance is a rip off.
Which insurance did you get quoted from? I heard that there's some companies that have home and car insurance, etc. If you sign up for auto insurance with the companies that also do home insurance, they usually cut you a deal.
I have insurance through USAA. I'm in the military. At one time I had homeowner's, car insurance times 2, and checking and savings through them. You get discounts for having more stuff through them. I still don't get it. I agree though.....it's definately a rip off.
I just checked Progressive and the 6 month premium would be just over a thousand for 6 months. Not bad I guess. I think my wife was mistaken when she called. Who knows. When I buy a car I look at the total I would spend in a month anyway. Payment plus insurance. Alrighty then.
I am also in the military and switched from USAA to Geico. I just purchased a 2002 Mustang GT Roush Series W' Nitrous injection and they gave me insurance for $460 for 6 months full coverage. You might want to check it out!
I pay around $350 per year full coverage for my 98 . I have it listed as my 2nd car with under 7,500 miles per year . A winter lay up of 3 months also . But the big difference here is mine is a 3.8L and I am prob older than most of you .

I just can't believe USAA would quote you something ridiculous like this. I have USAA as well and I think I paid around $80 a month for my 03 Cobra. I pay only $65 a month for my C6 Vette. The amount of $400 a month is insane for someone who has no accidents or tickets!!
