I saw a pretty nice 88 Mustang 4Cy Vert for sale. Looks like its in real nice shape, power windows, locks, and top. Cloth interior with an automatic Transmission. Overall appears to be in very good shape. Odometer sayes 49k miles. Though, its only a 5 digit odometer and it may very well be 149K miles.
My question is how much is one of thses worth.

1500-2000 is the going rate in NoVa - right around blue book, maybe slightly more in some cases. I see an occasional one for 500 bucks - but they are usually beaters.
If you want a convertible fox body get a four-banger, most of the V8 cars have serious chassis flex problems from the extra weight and torque, as well as the extra abuse of the go-pedal by their owners. The '88 LX vert I sold had a much stiffer chassis than my '87 GT, and the GT had subframe connectors and the LX didn't! (never got around to it.) Not to mention the LX's top still closed properly, it's doors didn't sag, and the car didn't twist when I hit bumps, I'm helping a friend put a 5.0 in it now (couldn't sell her on the idea of going 2.3 turbo) and we're doing subframe connectors and a strut tower brace from the get-go so it doesn't develop the problems the V8 'verts usually have. (as Ford did a completely inadequate job from the factory... want to see the freakiest thing in the world? jack up a convertible V8 fox in front of the rear wheels at the jacking points, put jackstands there and let it sit overnight... your door gap between the back of the doors and quarter panel will open up by over 1/4"!!!

Chassis' can be stiffened with subframe connectors, strut tower braces and shock tower braces. Go for one with a V8.

I got a 91 GT Vert andyea the chassis flexes, but its a project car. I would hav enever been happy with a 4cyl convertible.
I wasn't happy with the "overwhelming" 88hp... but... 29mpg? That I could get used to... I was going to do a 2.3 turbo swap and keep the chassis flex-free while getting the power I was missing, but that never happened.
My '87 flexes so bad sometimes I'm sure the car is going to come apart... hasn't yet though... every time I have the money saved up for subframe connectors another part breaks and uses that money (and my parents didn't get me subframe connectors for Christmas, they gave me part of the money to pay for my truck's transmission buildup instead.
