The ad showed a polished studio image of the ForFour, with the words, "German engineering. Swiss innovation. American nothing."

Funny, like to know if that ad agency lost the accnt.

The funny thing is American Cars are more reliable than German Cars right now, and Chrysler is making more money than Benz.

Let's not let this thread turn into a flame war about who's scared of who and what race/nationality/religion they are.

By the looks of this thing, the billboard should read:
>> German engineering
>> Swiss innovation
>> Spare parts cobbled together from junk made by third-world manufacturers, including pieces of a failed next-generation Yugo concept car
>> American nothing - because no American in their right mind wants anything to do with this butt-ugly gocart.
If it's this ugly in a 'polished studio image', I can't imagine how horrid it looks in real life. They had better hope this thing gets good gas mileage - it's the only way the owner of such a heap could hope to get away from the mobs of people who will want to kick their a$$ simply for driving such a hideous contraption.
Funny thing is, the first thing I thought when I saw this rolling travesty was that it looks like the illegitimate offspring of a Honda Element! What's up with this new trend of making cars that look like they came from the factory painted one color, were wrecked, and had the damaged parts replaced with pieces taken from a different color car found in a junkyard? Toyota is doing an SUV type thing now on which the roof is a different color from the rest of the body. Is all this designed to make the folks who are running around sporting unpainted body kits feel like they fit in?
Fads. GM makes trucks (Avalanches, for instace) with plastic body panels that reach up to and over the roof - Honda makes things "elemental" - while even the mighty D/C gets lured into creating ugliness clad with contrasting plastic bits!
"Bad" dudes with attitude are sporting vehicles painted all in primer - that stay that way - and kids gobbled up by the ricer fad are emulating all this nonsense.
The process that sees street fads enter the oe manufacturing main stream appears to be accelerating.
Look for DVD screens to sprout from every surface any time now - some cars are even sporting them on the front bumpers at car shows...
