Default Supercar Sightings...

Yesterday I was cruising down one of the major hwy's here in Toronto (the 400) I was minding my business when I hear this unbelevable shrill coming up behind me, as if there were 10 superbikes accelerating in unison. I look over to my right and see something that I have only seen once in my life and that was at an autoshow, never on the road... a Ferrari F40. I was in total awe it was truly an unbelievable sight, especially since he was probably going about 120mph when he flew by. I tried my best to catch up and luckily he slowed down so I could. I drove up next to him and presented perhaps the biggest, most obvious thumbs up I have ever awarded to any car, it was deserving of it. The driver just glanced over at me without any acknowledgment and took off like nothing I've ever seen before. Within about 10sec I could no longer see him and didn't even attempt to catch him as I was already doing about 100mph. Although I could no longer see him I could clearly hear the engine, it had to have been the loudest car I have ever heard. Seeing that car really made my night , they are extremely rare.

So what supercars have you guys actually seen on the road? And I'm talking about the ultimate supercars, not your everyday 360 or Gallardo, ie F40, F50, Enzo, Carrera GT, Merc SLR, Bugatti Veyron, McLaren F1....etc Anyone had any interesting encounters with any?

I see an Enzo parked at one of my customer's homes everyweek. Lots of ferraris and Lambos here in Vegas's streets.. dont pay attention much.....but i do pay attention to classic cars more than exotics.

I almost bought a Lamborghini Jalpa (aka Baby Lambo) when it was a bit iffy if I could get my '05 GT. There were, I believe, less than 500 made. I happened to see one drive through my little town one day, and while it's not a supercar in an F40 sense, it still stood out among the sea of pickup trucks and tractors. Now, the Gallardo, that's a cool car. Italian designed, German engineered. Someday I'm gonna get me a Ferrari 328 GTS. That car says "sexy" just like my GT says "Whoopa$$".

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

I believe I saw a Jalpa once downtown, and a couple months ago (keeping with older italian exotics) I saw a Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona, wow that car is nice. As far as the Gallardo goes, someone in my neighbourhood just got a black coupe a few weeks ago and I see him tearing up the streets now and then. The interesting thing about this guy is that he also has a Porsche 996 Turbo, a Merc SL500, Merc SLK (older body style), and a Hummer H2, he used to also have a Bentley Azure .. damn I wish he was my next door neighbour lol.

Rich or poor, it's nice to have money.
Oh Well, I guess there are lots of people who would say that about me.

I have seen a McLaren F1 on my way to a job site. I passed it and almost ran off the road trying to watch it fade away in the distance. It was definetely a gorgeous car. It was a orange color, like a burnt orange. I have also seen two Lamborghini Gallardos while surveying, definetely a nice sounding car and a head turner.

I raced a Gallardo a few weeks ago. That was a blast even though he really started walking the dog on me once I hit third.

Well, my boss drives a 1994 BMW M3 that he brought back from Germany without any of the US "restrictions" installed when he came back from being stationed there in the army... that four-dour Bimmer will pass my 5.0 like it's sitting still at will. I've personally done engine and brake work on a 1950 Bentley Saloon, drove it too. (I know that the Bentley isn't really a "supercar" but it's pretty exotic nonetheless, and is my favorite of all the cars I ever worked on... driving it was like driving while sitting on air... and it was a 54 year old car at the time!)

I work in a ski town in sw Colorado. I have seen quite a few sweet cars. 2 porshe carrera GT's, a Lambo Diable, a Saleen S7, an Austin Martin DB9, 13 Real Shelby Cobras, a new Ford GT, a new Shelby GTH, Lots of Vipers and ZO6 Vettes, and a Bugatti Veyron. Some of these may not qualify as supercars, but I live in a small town of about 600, and if you see a 911 here its pretty rare.
