Default Ford vehicle recall

I don't think Mustangs are included in this recall (actually, seems to be an extension of an earlier recall), but since some of us seem to also own other Ford vehicles, I thought it was worth posting, in case some have missed it:

I seen where someone is suing Ford because they had an explorer in their garage and the people claimed that it caught the garage and house on fire. People were killed, Ford has denied it, this had been a few years ago.

No one could find a cause, so they are blaming it on the Explorer because it has happened in the past.
The big three are really sinking, hope they can pull out of it.

Yea I was watching some big documentry on it and it was saying fires were starting when the car was off and parked, I think they won the case.

Default safety recall

I was reading about safety hazards on '64-'70 mustangs. I want to know how if any one knows is a good way to fix the problem. I have a '65, any suggestions?

Welcome to AFM.

The best defense is good maintenance and common sense. Many older cars have hard fuel lines that are crimped or leaking - and rubber lines that are just plain dangerous. Start with getting under the car and eyeballing the entire fuel system. Anything that looks damaged (much less leaking), replace it fast.

Oil leaks that drip on manifolds can cause trouble - sort them out next.

Electrical fires around fuel lines and carburetors is not unknown. Examine the wiring, including checking for continuity. Brittle, butchered up wiring is common. Assume if a wire shows a short that it can cause a problem - track it down and replace it, making sure it's not still "live" at one end. Check out the fuse box. I bet you find some unsafe factors there (the last 69 I worked on had two pennies corroding away in there!).

Luck and like I said, welcome to AFM. There's a forum section dedicated to the older cars - you can find lots of well-informed data in there.
