started new job today

Well guys n girls. I started my new job today. I must say that I think I'm really gonna like it there. I've been at the site a total of 4 times now and I have yet to see a single person walking around looking like they hate their job. I've been anxiously waiting for today since August when they offered me the job. The last week has been one of the greatest I've had in a long long time. I went to upstate NY for my best friends wedding and got so drunk at the bachelor party that I almost yarfed while walking to the wedding the next afternoon. I know that sounds kinda immature and foolish, but its been forever since I got to go drinking with him and I had a duty to fulfill. I was threatened with death by his wife if he showed up drunk to the altar. There were people buying him all kinds of drinks that would have done him in so in order to not appear ingrateful, he pushed them my way to chug and then made sure the person buying saw the empty glass. Thankfully she didn't say a word about me having to be sober at the ceremony. Anyway, life was looking up for me a few weeks ago and now it's looking friggin awesome.

Glad to hear it. Sounds like you were willing to jump on the grenade - or, at least, the grenadine - for your buddy. So thoroughly selfless of you!

Congrats Blue...... It sounds like you ended up taking one for the team. Way to go!!!!! I know, it was a tough job, but someone had to do it.

Thanks guys. I took more than one for the team that night...I felt it til Friday night too. Day 2 of the job and all is still well. I got a nice fat stack of books to start cracking to get qualified so I can actually earn the money they're paying me. I remembered this afternoon what I hated most about being a junior operator on the ship. QUALS SUCK!! I was doing the 20 second blink about every 2 minutes.

Woot woot, party time, life is good. Hope you are ok with all the studying up, make sure you rest enough though, we dont want you getting over stressed. take care blue.
