More power to them. I guess they like what they see working with the GTO/Camaro on the Transformers movie. Could be a wake up call to Ford in getting more power to the Mustangs. And I'm not talking more power to the Cobra, I'm talking just the GT models. Cuz it seems like the Z28/SS (whatever they decide to call it) V8 Camaro has more power then the Mustang GT.
Man who in the heck cares? Honestly Shelby left. Why because he is stuiped. He finally reliazed that and came back. Ford still sold the Mustang well after shelby was gone, and now Saleen thinking about the same thing! Well it dont bother me. They will see when GM cant sell the Camero and its a flop once again. Saleen will be left out so big deal.

No really. Business decision, that I hope works out well for him.

Saleen is an "independent manufacturer". Their cars are 'Saleens", not Mustangs, and not Fords - or at least, that's their view.
As an OE manufacturer (not really a tuner - Saleen gets mad when people call him that), Saleen can make whatever they like.
It would seem unlikely that they would develop all that GM knowhow building Camaros for movies and NOT seek to expand their market.
Whether or not they will continue making S281's (Saleen Mustangs to the rest of us) or shift totally over to Camaros is unknown. Saleen has an idle manufacturing line (where they used to do joint projects with the now defunct SVT and where they built the Ford GT supercars), which is probably going to be where they build Saleen Camaros (though doubtless they'll give it a number and just call it a "Saleen C350" or whatever).

Yep, Shelby went to Dodge. My neighor has a couple of Shelby Daytonas. Seems that the average person on the street does not consider them to be "real" Shelbys, in spite of their CSX numbers.

Oh, I think they're real Shelbies all right. They're not just real VALUABLE Shelbies!
Its unlikely they'll ever see the run up in price that the 60's Mustang Shelbies have experienced. But interesting cars, for all of that.

Those cars were the first FWD performance cars, regardless of what the import fans think.
the VNT4 Shelby/Iroc was one quick car for the time.
I'd like to get my hands on one to put in a garage sometime.

There was no other shop that could do it fast enough for the movie.
who knows if he'll devote engineering for the Camaro, but I doubt it.

Word I get is that the problems with producing the Ford GT created some real hard feelings at Saleen.
Soon after this, Saleen made it clear that they are an independent company that manufactures cars, not just some aftermarket tuner, and that they were open to projects from other sources (presumably other than FMC).
Soon after this occurred, the new Camaro and Challenger news became widespread, followed by Saleen building movie cars for the Transformer movie.
Saleen's current financial position is showing weakness from the ending of the Ford GT project (which appears to have been more trouble than it was worth its final year).
Competition on Ford's showfloors for Saleen sales has gotten VERY crowded in the past 2 years with Rousch exerting more and more muscle, and Shelby now in the act with no fewer than 5 different Mustang-derived models, 2 of them considered actual "Ford" models.
Saleen will either go back to some semblance of its semi-shutdown mode of the 80's and early 90's when it almost went under, or it will have to start an entire new sales-path.
If Ford also starts adding special edition Mustangs to its lineup (which they persist in promising, despite killing off SVT and delaying needed Mustang updates), then Saleen's marketing space will become as crowded as a sardine can.

I've always preferred how the Roush's look anyway.
I could care less if they are PO'd and want to go with GM. I wouldn't be buying a Saleen anyway.
