Apparently they are putting both the cars in the movie - bumblebee is going to be an old camaro than gets refitted into 08/09 camaro and a decepticon is going to be a saleen mustang 07 - they got some cool pics at the link - check it out people!

well, at least the Mustang isn't the wussy Autobot.
He used to be a VW Beetle.

I'm getting a bad feeling about GM's intro of the Camaro - they're emulating the Ford Mustang in more than just styling!
Word is that they are going to limit production to a single factory, one shift, with no immediate plans for more. Sounds JUST like the AIA Ford plan, which is why Ford can only produce 200,000 stangs tops.
"Engineered scarcity". I wonder how long the waiting lists will be for V8 powered Camaros?
Hope I'm wrong, but a look at their manufacturing plans shows the Camaro neatly painted into a very small corner...

I guess GM finally cleared up the legal mess with Canada.
They renigged on a 10 year maufacturing deal with them, cost about 3,000 jobs and over $500 mil to the Canadian gov't. They only went 2 or 3 years into the deal before they cancelled the F-Body line.
GM negotiated a settlement with the Canadians, as I recall. Essentially gave them back the factory (GM never really owned it anyway) for part of the 350 mill (remainder of the deal, which was 30% done), paid about 100 mill in cash, and agreed to extend the employment at a number of other plants to compensate.
Another good reason why we need to stop seeing government bribe automakers to build cars! Canada is doing nothing different from the individual states her in the US, and its insane. Kia recently flirted with Georgia about a new factory (actually, taking over the old Ford Taurus plant that just shut down) and walked away from over $400,000,000 of the taxpayer's money because the deal wasn't quite good enough!
Its nuts, and we need to stop doing this.

YA IM wondering if you will be able to buy one thats stick.......LOL.............. 95% of all cameros firebirds T/A's ive seen are all auto. It is so hard to find a stick. I know autos are good in their own way but muscle cars need more then 5% to be stick.
GM :thumbsdown
