Are they using variable valve timing or the plates like the 3v's?

Logically, if they can get 400 hp out of the 4.6, that 5.4 should be producing 500hp WITHOUT the blower.

Shelby is right - they low-balled the GT500 for some reason. 600hp is what that motor should make. I checked out the JLT site, and they are developing tunes and CAI's for the GT500. Getting an addiitonal 60-94rwhp just from a tune and cai (not sure, but I believe the 94 came with exhaust mods added in).

I'd imagine. It's becoming SOP, now among all the car companies . . .

The Terminator/Mach heads aren't as good as the GT/GT500 heads, thats why. Ford learned a lot when they made the 5.0 Cammer engine and they are putting some of that technology into this engine, mainly the better heads and I'm sure the intake manifold is a real piece of work. It will also be interesting to get not only the cam specs but to see what kind of rpm this thing will be turning. Ford is getting awfully close to the magical 100hp/liter mark. Maybe they are finally learning a thing or two from the Japanese.

I'm blaming the low hp numbers of the GT500 on warranty concerns and the stingy Spanish Oak processor. That thing is TOO good at what it does.
