Default 4:10 7.5 rear end gears for my Mustang?

I got a question for whom ever can help me. I am putting 4:10 gears in my stang, I bought them from ebay brand new, what do I need all together to install? I don't think is as simple as opening the rear end take the stock gears and putting the others in right? I am no stranger to mechanical work but this is new territory. help please, any info is appreciated.

you are going to need shims, the gear oil, and measuring instruments to set the pinion.

Dwell meter (you might be able to borrow one from a major parts chain - they often have special tools they lend out).

There's a good book out there about drivetrain work...

Darn. I just went blank. I'll post the title if it comes back to me.

Swapping in gears is not a simple task of replacing parts. Most workshop manuals no longer include the directions, with all the complaints and problems their readers have experienced doing the job themselves.

Around here most of the shops one have on or two mechanics the trust to do it. It can be done in your home garage but if you don’t get it set perfect the first time you have to start over………way too much headach.
