I'm the guy who haunchoed the original Mountain Picnic, which happened last year. (Everyone is discussing something that is over a year old).
I'd like to do it again, but it was a lot of work last time, and a ton of folks who promised to come did not do so (I took home a ton of left over BBQ).
The best time to do it because of our usual SouthEastern weather would be in the Fall, and I have talked with Stone Mountain about us doing this, but I just don't know how much I can put into it right now (I'm essentially rebuilding my house right now, and its eating me alive).
I DO appreciate all the folks who have gone out of their way to voice support, though, and I am going to post up an update as soon as I get some additional data back from Stone Mountain!
PM me with your contact intormation (whatever you feel comfortable with) and I will add everyone who is interested to the PM list and keep you fully informed. Mailing addresses would be appreciated.
I have a unique TShirt design (I'm a commercial artist and F&SF illustrator by trade) I've completed and will be posting up for all to see in a few weeks (have to get pricing from the shirt folks). Anyone who wants a shirt should PM me AFTER I post the data, of course. The cost of the shirts will be at "Cost", ie, no profit for me, with just a little cushion to help pay for expenses.
Those who attended last year are entitled to a free shirt (on me), and should contact me with your sizes and mailing instructions.
Thanks be to all the AFM faithful.
Hail the Fighters!!!

Stan.... you are awesome. For those of you who have not met Stan yet or seen his artwork, you're in for a treat. He is an amazing artist. Last year at the Stone Mountain get-together, he handed out some of his artwork and it is absolutely incredible.
As for a meet this year, he is right, last year we had alot of responses to this thread and alot of people promising to show up and guess what, I think about 7 of us came. Very dis respectful if you ask me. He put so much time and effort into it, spent alot of his money up front to put it all together, my company paid for the BBQ and we had 7 or so people show up. I read somewhere in this thread recently about the possibility of a deposit fee or something like that and I think that is a great idea. At least that way, if someone can't make it, at least Stan doesn't lose money on the deal.
Go with PI heads and quit watching The Fast and the Furious. (thanks 2 IhaveadopeGT)
Remember, it is almost impossible for anyone, myself included, to diagnose a problem over the internet without seeing the car. My advice is simply that, advice based on years of experience. I don't want you or anyone taking my word as gospel. I am trying to give some direction as to what I think may be happening.
