It is concrete. I'll be there come hell or high water (which would be the end of the earth, probably, since its about 2000 feet above sea level and a local high point).
I need to know who wants to chip in for the bbq feast (it won't be that much, and I'll let everyone know the exact amount per person, but I realize that not EVERYONE eats BBQ). I'll front the money and buy the food, transport it in, and get it hot (I'll also have some burger and hot dog makings, just for snacks and backup). Drinks will be part of the equation, too.
Several folks are planning runs through the mountains, so I invite those interested to post their intentions and discuss their plans. There are central meet points where good jump-off runs can be planned on the various routes.
I'll be posting lists and links and such as soon as I get them organized. I'd appreciate those who are serious about coming PM'ing me with their contact info (particularly cell #'s and such that will be accessible on the road) so that I can act as the central contact for people who might run into trouble on the road, delays or (like BullRun) get lost.
Anyone coming from the SW VA, East TN, or Western NC...PM me if you would be interested in meeting up and cruising down there together. I've got a pretty decent route planned, if anyone is interested.
I will see about getting off work and should know whats what in a few days . Keep your fingers crossed !!!
Just looked , it is 724 miles from here . Add a few hundred for getting lost LOL , not to bad ! ROAD TRIP
BTW , I will be comeing down from Pennsylvania . Where are the convoys going to start ? Looks like I will be on I 77 and I 85 ( as well as a dozen others )

I see you got my PM! July 21, Saturday, is the date.
It looks like the show is getting on the road. We may have a corporate sponsor to kick some money in toward the food (BBQ, and really good BBQ, I might add). I'll be updating the food situation as we get closer to the event. Vegetarians and those who don't eat red meat are ALSO encouraged to come!
Anyone reading this should read through the whole thread - there's LOTS of information there, tons of links, and more to come!
Pass the word to your friends on AFM about our little shindig. We're obeying the rules against cross-posting and off-topic posts, so help us get out the word!
We have about 20-30 people coming right now, but my prediction was always that 50 would be a good turnout!
