Mine was a '72 dodge dart 225 slant 6 2bbl carter 727 torqueflight.It wasn't a powerhouse,but it was good cheap transport. By the way, do you know what dodge stands for D.irty O.ld D.undgy G.rundgy E.ngine
It was like driving a washing machine. Then, when I added a "few" performance upgrades (lack thereof), I got all excited and said "yeah, it's pushing 120 hp" like it was a lot.
I've got to say, 300hp is quite different than 120 (if that)
Hello. My first car was a 66 mustang coupe. 6cyl, 3 speed manual. It was probably a pretty rare car because it didn't come with any options. Not a one. The cheap, cheap original owner even got the credit for the rocker molding and quarter ornament delete. It had nothing. The car was given to me in a very miserable condition when I was 13, but I managed to get it roadworthy and pretty by the time I got my license. And, a little better than twenty years later, I still have that car. Well, most of it, anyway. It's disassembled and residing in the attic, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of it. I let a few parts go to put on either Shelbys or K codes, and I gave the shifter to guy on another forum, but it's mostly still there. I really loved that old car. I just wasn't ever driving it and I didn't have any room for it in the driveway or the garage anymore, and I sure wasn't going to sell it, so it's still here. I might put it back together one of these days and put some stuff like A/C, disc brakes, etc... on it. But, since I've got one in the garage and another in the driveway, and my husband has this silly idea that he should have a car also, even though there's a perfectly good bus that would take him right to his office , I guess that project will have to wait a while longer.
My first car was a black 91 Mustang GT. It was an automatic and it ran like crap, had more than 100k miles, and had nicks and scratches all over. It was just a cruiser.

Fortunately it was bought brand new by my grandfather in 1984 and still in my possesion. The 700R4 needs to be rebuilt and it could use a 350 but I can go out there and start it right now. I loved that car, it was like driving a big plush couch

My actual first car was a Volvo 343... Signal yellow :P
Not quite this color (I got it repainted from beige to yellow, and used black to offset the color a bit on the locks, bumper and whatnot), but still: http://www.drive.ru/images/volvo/volvo-343-dl.jpg
I feel kinda cheap among you guys :P

My first car (that I owned anyway, not counting what my parents let me drive) was a 1965 Mustang, black convertible. Three speed, 289 V8 with 4 barrel carb. I paid $50 for it, had to tow it home, then proceeded to tear it down and fix it up. The only problem I had when I put it back together was I put the shift linkage in backwards so 1st gear was up and reverse was down -- was a tricky shift from 1st to 2nd, but I never got around to crawling back under the car to fix it. Drove it for 4 years in college, let it sit for a year and sold it for $500.

my first car was a 1983 Mustang LX 2.3L 5 speed. the driver seat was broken at the front left and if you leaned back with any pressure, you head would hit the back seat. carburetor flopped around on the manifold and if I took a turn to sharp, the motor would die.

My first car was a blue 1982 Dodge Omni I bought in June of 1992 before I had my license. The previous owner had never done any mechanical maintance to it and it wound up having many problems, some I was able to sort out but I finally gave up on it and sold it in October 1995. The PO had kept it garaged and waxed so it did look new plus the interior was kept like new too, except they never did much mechanically during the 10 years before I got it. Sad the way some people treat/take care of vehicles. All they want to do is put gas in them and could care less about anything else.
