Default What Was Your First Car?

We all remember our first one. As a teenager it was a right of passage. Even if you had nowhere to go, you drove. Gettin' your girfriend a little tipsy in the backseat on those wine coolers your older brother bought for you. So what was your first car? Mine was a '68 Torino GT, candyapple red with a big vinyl back seat, and 302. Great car!

Aw man, I coulda had one like it when I was 16, but I was such an irresponsible screwup, I couldn't scrounge $500 together, and my parents sure as heck weren't gonna buy it for me. It was a red '68 or '69 Torino GT fastback, with the black C stripes and a black interior, with bucket seats and a column shift! I had a 302, and had had an off road excursion, which messed up a leaf spring, and tore off the muffler and part of the fuel line. Man, I'd love to have it today.
Instead, my first car was a '77 Olds Vista Cruiser, light blue, with a hole in the floor, and a bad motor. I paid $50 for it in January of '86, during my second year of college, and kept it until it died a few months later. I sold it for $50, and kept the jack and the Clarion 8 track tape deck. Oh well, that's OK, because when I was a senior, (six years later...) I got an equally worn out '82 GT.

I love saying this: my first car? 1970 SS 396 Chevelle! It had the 350hp 402 big block, Turbo 400 auto and 3:31 posi rear end. It had glasspacks when I bought it (for $700) and I put Blackjack headers and a Holley 780 vacuum secondaries on it. Fun car.

Mine was a 1969 Cougar 428CJ with a C-6 auto. Fun car but they were so front end heavy, it was hard to get any traction in 1st and 2nd gear. Bought it in 1973.
