Default 02 sensor troubles

hi i am a student have a 95 gt wich wen i start and get into first gear it feals like its bogging down untill i give it alot of gas then it will "make a pop noise" then it will run normal then when i shift into 2nd it will feal like its bogging down after running for awhile it will run fine also the engine light will turn on and then shut off but doesn't nesacarily go on when all this is happening. i was thinking mas airflow sensor or 02 sensors so i pulled the mas airflow sensor and cleand it it was really dirty then i unplugged the 02 sensors. it runs fine now with the o2 sensors unplugged but will this hurt how it runs ie gas ileagfe running too lean or rich? ill get new sensors wen i get the money but i have to buy books for school first any suggestions or advice?
