Exclamation 2002 Mustang GT Automatic to Manual Transmission Swap. Worth it or just do gears?

i have been looking into trying to find information and a price estimate on swapping my transmission from 4spd auto to 5spd manual tremec. i google and google and dont find much. i signed up here to see if anyone could point me in a direction of pedal kits, bell housing?, transmissions, or if i need to change my cars computer to one from a manual junked car. any web sites would help to thanks guys

For my money, unless you are really, I mean really good with the manual tranny an automatic will outshift you all the time. The auto never misses a gear, never over revs the engine and shifts just as hard as a manual if it's set up correctly. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

you got a point there a shift kit would make some hella smooth shifts and the consistency is there. but i have always loved the feel of slammin that bad boy in 2nd and almost shattering your clutch and snapping your drive shaft and twisting the frame. (not that my car has those kind of cahonays) but i dunno just gets me more excited to drive =) thx for the opinion though more are welcome

You're right about power shifting. There is no substitute for the feeling you get after a well made shift but by the time you reach my age certain things have to make way for more pratical methods. With my $6000.00 titanium left knee I find it difficult to move fast enough for a good shift so I had to face reality and go with the set up automatic.
