Exclamation noise when pressing gas pedal need help 2001 Mustang

Hey, I have a few Questions if anyone can help me with..
I own a 01 Mustang and I have at this moment 2 issues that i need more info
1. My car makes a weird Rattling noise when ever i press on the gas pedal
The noise is not that Loud but i can hear it.. Unfortunatley I have not been able
to locate where the noise is coming from... Nor do not know what might be causing the issue
2. When i took the car for the 60.000 Milage maintance 3 months ago i was told that the car
had a valve leak something like that which basically makes the muffler leak water.
- My question is can that affect the car in any way / basically whats wrong with the car

Sounds like you have detonation or pre-ignition. What octane of gas are you using? You may have to step up a grade depending on temperature.. im sure Texas can get pretty warm, so you may have to use a better fuel.

Also the muffler shouldn't leak water as the exhaust system doesn't contain water, just exhaust gas. Did the techs try to sell you anything when you took it in? That's usually a hint they're full of it.

The water in the exhaust system is most likely condensation from running the engine cold. How far do you usually drive at a time? If you do not drive far enough for the exhaust system to dry out there will be water that collects in the system and will drip out when you are parked. The moisture will also cause electrolysis which will eat your muffler from the inside out and don't let anyone tell you that stainless steel is impervious because it's not. In fact, it sounds like you may already have a leak in the exhaust system that spits when you accelerate causing the noise you hear. I wish you luck with it!

Definetly sounds like pinging . I dont know of any valve that could leak water into your muffler , I would have someone pressure test the car after it has run to see if you have a cracked water jacket on the combustion side . which might answer both do you see any whit e smoke or steam when you get on it after it has been driven up to temp
