Just had the engine built with cams,port and polished heads and a valve job.The first engine blew uder boost due to contaminated fuel(water in fuel).Im still breaking it in before i tune it and dyno it.I have a problem when i start the car cold for the first time.The engine backfires or pops at the drivers side exhaust and alot of condensation out the tail pipe only that one side.But when it warms up the engine runs fine.
Any ideas of what is causeing this.I think i may have a bad injector thats too lean at start up.They are the same injectors from the first engine (60 pound) that blew.But its something with cold starting.I have a SCT base tune in it now and staying out of boost for another 600 miles untill i break it in and dyno and tune it.

Sounds as if your distributor might be one tooth off.

its not the distributor. it would run bad regardless of temperature.

sounds like spark plug wiring is not correct. Had similiar problem.

Check Gap size on all plugs, what is the condition of all plugs? Sounds like a gap issue or a fouled out plug, excessive build up, poor a bit of SeaFoam over cylinder head or in crank case and the other half in gas tank, should smoke up a bit but clear any build up. Should help you a bit
