Hi i have a '98 with a manual transmission. have been hearing a rythmic, high frequency tapping sound that i can only hear when i push the gas pedal. most audible at low rpms. dont know if thats because it goes away or the engine just gets too loud. cant be heard while idleing and doesnt seem to start until the engine has gotten warm ie after several minuts of driving. while sitting in the car it sounds like it is comming from under the dash near the radio. but not sure. any help would be appreciated.

Check your oil pressure,Also try some lucas oil stablizer cuz it sounds like a bad lifter or a main bearing.Becuase when its hot the oil is thinner and it gives more clearence between the bearings
