Default fuel pump runs but car doesn't

'89 2.3 5 speed (originally automatic). fuel pump runs, fuel release squirts, hear seaping noise at intake (injectors?), do not smell gas leak, car will not start, last drive was about 1/2 power, what gives? where do I check? I'm an old car, carburator type guy, help!
happy trails

Plug a code reader in and see what it says. Checkers has them for like $40, and they are mighty helpful to diagnose problems. Also, do you have spark? Pull the distributor after marking where it is, and give it a whirl, you should hear the fuel injectors squirt, as the Distributor houses the switch to sync all the fuel injection stuff.

Hi, Do You Have Spark At All? Unplug Any Spark Wire And Check When You Start It To See If It Has Spark

May Be Bad Injectors

Have you checked timing belt? I may have jumped a tooth if the belt is loose or the belt could be broken.

THAT'S true, i don't know much about 2.3 but if it has timing belt and not a timing chain that could be the problem
