Exclamation Ideas for a custom woofer box for my 2000 mustang

I have a 2000 ford mustang coupe, and I was thinking about building a box into the floor of my trunk. Id have to take out my spare tire so that the woofers are able to fit, but im looking for suggestions on how to go about doing this. I have 2 10" woofers. Ive seen a box built like this go for about 600$ which is why id like to do it myself.

I did this in my 00' Sentra. Don't know how different the spare area is but what I did may work for you.

I built the box to fit in the spare tire well and sit about an inch or so lower than the top edge of the well, and about an inch from the sides at the bottom. I then used a large piece of cardboard to form a template for the top of the well.

Using the cardboard, I cut the main cover plate for the well from 3/4" MDF. I cut it to fit into the hole rather than on it, and I oversized the sub opening to allow a grill to be mounted on the original box, yet still be flush with the cover plate.

I then used four small peices of MDF for supports and screwed them into the sides of the wheel well just 3/4" from the top edge of the well. (know where your gas tank is!)

I then used a lot of screws to mount the original box to the back of the cover plate. ( use just a few until you are sure the box is situated on the back of the plate so as to clear all the sides of the well)

Once they both are lined up and mounted to each other, you simply lower the assembly onto the supports you screwed into the well. This should make it flush with the rest of the floor in your trunk.

BTW: I only got about .6 cubic feet of airspace out of this setup. But it sounded great. (with one 10)
