Default 2002 Mustang GT rear end noise

Please help!! I just puchased a 2002 Mustang GT (75000 miles) with a manual transmission. When I push in the clutch a slide the car into 1st gear, I get a thump noise from the rear end. This also happens when going from 1st to 2nd. Its the same sound the rear end gives when I go over a bump. What's going on?

Check your first and second gears in your transmission then maybe check your gears in your rear axle

Sounds like your u-joints are about to take a walk. I would have them checked as soon as possible. You may already know this but you do not want that drive shaft dropping out while you are driving. It can really make a mess out of things.
