Need advice for car battery.
Help,

I have a 2007 Cal. Spec. Mustang GT, with Roush super charger.

I noticed that after sitting in a cold New York garage after a couple of days requires me to constantly jump start the vehicle.

I guess it takes alot of cold cranking amps to turn it over. I currently have the stock motorcraft YD-BXT-96R , 500 amp cold cranking, in the vehicle.

My question is can I change to a more powerful battery, without damaging the car. What is the highest I can go, and what is a good brand.

Thanks

AL

You should buy a battery tender. I use one and it works great. You can buy them at your local auto parts store. It will keep your battery topped off. When it is done it will shut off. When it need a little kick it will top your battery off.

sounds like you have a drain somewhere. a couple of days in the cold shouldn't cause you to have to jump it. disconnect the positive wire from the battery and put a multi-tester between the post & the wire. this will give you the battery draw when the car is off. if it's more than a few millivolts; somethings up. not sure what the normal draw is but the ford place should be able to tell you. eagleautosports ( a member & moderator here on this site) could probably tell you right off the top of his head
what is normal for a mustang to draw when @ rest.
