Default The horn on my 2000 Mustang V6

So I brought my 2000 v6 mustang home, completely satisfied, but when I honked the horn it did not sound what I thought it would sound like at all. I actually kind of laughed. It was way too high pitched and dinky sounding. Is there anything I can do for this?

There should be two horns. One with a high pitch, one with a low. If you have two, one may not be working. Check the electrical connection and the ground at the horn. Sometimes the ground is through the mounting bolt.

If you still don't like what you have, go to a U-Pull-It yard and get a horn set from a full sized car or a pick-up. If you want new, most part stores have horn sets at a reasonable price. When mounting horns make sure that the opening is facing down. This way water won't enter them.

Alright thanks I will check it out again. Any idea of how much it would cost for a horn set?

The horn sets that are available in the part stores are made by the same manufacturer as the OE sets. At least that's what I found. If I remember right, both new horns cost me about 30 Dollars. I think you can also buy them separately if needed.

From a U-Pull-It yard probably half of that price.
