I have a 2000 mustang v6 and I am about to replace the exhaust manifold because it is cracked. I noticed around the old manifold that there is a red color filling around the joint where it connects to the motor. I was just wondering if this was to prevent any kind of leak or something of that nature? When replacing the manifold do I need to line the joint again with this filling and if so, where can I find it? -thank you

It's silicone sealant. The hight temp stuff is red/orange colored.
