I am only saying this because I work on my chebby truck like every weekend . All she does is suck my wallet dry like a parasite or an ex wife
SEE? you wouldn't know HALF of what you know now if you didn't spend all that time on the Chevy...
Lemme guess, she's chewing starters, the carb doesn't hold settings, the fan clutch doesn't engage when it should/engages when it shouldn't, and the timing jumps around on you?
1. shim the starter properly
2. Replace the Rochester Quadrajet with an Edelbrock Quadrajet
3. Replace the stock fan with a flex fan and replace the fan clutch with a new one.
4. Replace your timing chain and gears with a double roller or gear drive set.
I just guessed these because they are the #1 problems reported by Chevy truck owners, and all 4 can be corrected in one day.

Oh yes. I know I always feel relieved after whacking a defective starter with a deadblow a few good times. I'm serious. Once it cranked right up afterwards.

Yet another tech tip from expirience: Wal-Mart's "Everstart" batteries are cheap for a reason, but the fact that you can do an under-warranty swap for a new one 24 hours a day makes up for it!

Acutally, remember, that although there is no replacement for displacement, you can make the displacement you already have do more, building a 500hp streetable 429/460 is easy, building a 500hp streetable 302/351w takes real skill, but both are doable.
1. Marvel's Mystery Oil will be your best friend. It is the best pernatrating oil for those hard to break loose bolts. ie: exhaust manifold to h-pipe. I helped strip down a 1939 La Salle Ambulance for restoration. TY Marvel's =)
2. Have plenty of refreshments. the alcohol type will work best when things just aren't going right. Why is this? You just don't care and quit till tomarrow. Sometimes just walking away from an uncertainty is best, then return later and reapproach it with a different perspective.
I can't believe this is still going! Some pretty funny stuff and believe it or not it is all true!!!
Here is a couple more:
after that screw head rounded off you wished you had that Bob Villa screw extractor from Sears....like that tool is really going to work
staring at that broken exhaust stud long enough... still won't come out...
breaking off a drill bit in the broken exhaust stud causes tools to suddenly become airborne!!
looking at a match and some gas thinking that this otta cure that POS!!
#35- When your wife/signicant other tells you the car is making a "funny noise", do NOT assume she just heard that day. Chances are she's been hearing it for at least 2 weeks and was;
a) Just hoping it would stop on its own.
b) Trying to figure out how best to describe it to you.
c) Afraid you would actually try to fix it yourself, (like last time), and she would be without her car for a week.
