No matter how hard you try, you can't remember that really awesome idea for a tool that hasn't been invented yet. That is until you make a trip to Sears and find out that someone came out with the very same tool one day earlier. Maybe if you keep a patent lawyer with you at all times......

Remember, just because you CAN bench-press that transmission into place, doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD!

Be prepared to replace your neighbor's windows if you want to tune your vehicle with open headers in the driveway (learned that the hard way today.)

Remember, when the tires start sqealing loudly, it's time to let up off the go-pedal!

Tip #44? If everyone is passing you on the right, eithe take your foot off the brake or move over to the right.
Don't you hate it when you set the cruise and a minute later you have to hit the brakes to keep from rear-ending someone because they think the speed limit is still 45mph on the freeway?

Originally posted by GT Dan 45 on the freeway is a WA problem.....in CA if its 45 or less its commute traffic.....otherwise if you are driving under 70 you get run off the road
Took me awhile to get back to this thread but my response to the "WA problem" is if all the CA ppl would go back to CA, WA wouldn't have a problem! All the CA'ites do 45 during the rush hour which in turn slows everyone else down!
This is all said in good humor, no offense is intended.

Not confusing CA'ians with WA'ians unless us WA'ians are stealing CA Lic plates and sticking them on thier cars! Seriously, I almost rear-ended a CA plated car when is slowed way down when a few drops of rain hit the windshield. Now, I know it is a good idea to use extra caution when it starts raining (roads get slick), but not to slow down to the point of causing an accident.
The last time I was in Bakersfield, I was hauling a load of flamables in an 18-wheeler owned by an anal retentive company that cut the balls out of the truck as well as put a 65mph speed limiter on it. I had no choice but to go slow.

Tip #45 Read your plugs, they can tell a great story.
Tip#46 Don't even think of trying that EZE out on that 3/8" snapped bolt, you'll just snap the EZE out and then have the problem of drilling into hardened steel.

#35- When your wife/signicant other tells you the car is making a "funny noise", do NOT assume she just heard that day. Chances are she's been hearing it for at least 2 weeks and was;
a) Just hoping it would stop on its own.
b) Trying to figure out how best to describe it to you.
c) Afraid you would actually try to fix it yourself, (like last time), and she would be without her car for a week.
Come on, you know you would rather be the hero and fix it after she told you about it than to have to tell her it needs fixing when she didn't even know it was broke! (and she won't think you are working on it just because you want to!)
