Default Please Help! 3rd Brake light works but brake lights on taillights don't

I have a 98 gt. the problem is this: when i turn the marker lights on, they work fine. my turn signal lights work correctly. when i press the brakes, the third brake light works, but the lights on the tail lights don't get brighter. Any suggestions?

since there are 2 filaments in these bulbs, Make sure for one that you have the right bulbs in there if they were changed.
You could also have a bad ground to those lights or a bad connection going to the extra filament in those bulbs which should be a common wire between the two.

thanks for the suggestion, however the filiments are good since the turn signal lights up fine. that uses the brighter filiment which is the same as the brake light.

Could this problem have something to do with either the keyless entry module or the antitheft module in the left rear of the trunk? I think the taillight wires go into there.
