I'm gong to be getting new gears for my car, and i was looking at the 3.70 for my 9... and richmond gears are like $190, and the summit brand are like $120...
thats a big differance. is it really worth it to spend the extra on the richmonds? or will the summits hold up?

I agree ! I bought a summit H pipe and catback kit for my 5.0 and had to "modify " stuff to get it to half a** fit so I ended up welding it together . Works great now though . but only 9 hours later . I called summit and told them how much I LIKED their " bolt on exhaust " so much that they sent me a 50.00 gift certificate . I even told the guy that I would'nt use it to buy summit brand stuff . lol

You guys most know it really isn't Summits products.
Some examples:
I ordered a Summit proportion valve for my brakes. What came was a Wilwood proportion valve with Summit laser engraved on it.
A 255L fuel pump was a Walbro unit
A friend ordered a fuel filter, canister type, it was exactly the same as the Fram unit I had, except color.
I ordered an off-road "H" pipe. When it came we laid it next to a BBK "H" pipe guess what? Yep! Same thing right down to the crappy fit. BTW the hole in the crossover, you need to open it up with a torch. It is way to small.
So your Summit gears could be made by Richmond. Give Summit a call and find out
P.S.
Look in X1's sig. a 67, V8, came with an 8" or a 9" diff.

hmmm interesting.. i guess it cant hurt to just ask who makes them for them.. that would save me a few bucks if they were the same.. but i wonder if its the same quality, even if it is made by Richmond??
go with ford racing gears,..they r by far the best in my opinion

US are good gears. I installed some 4:56 gears in my truck a couple of month ago. They where suppose to be factory gears. They came in a US gears box with a Ford part number on it. No noise what so ever, even on break-in. I'm very happy with them!

I heard not to go with richmond that the metal is different than the FORD gears and that they make a lot of noise. Go with FORD gears! They have the master housing demensino thing which makes installing a lot easier! Ford gears are the best by far.
