Default question on a rebuild of a 5.0 HO

Is it worth rebuilding a 5.0 HO to put in a 65 mustang?

Just a weekend cruzer but I dont want to get smoked if someone pulls to my right or left either. I went to the junkyard and saw a lot of 5.0 HO. Just needed some info.

I was planning on rebuilding mine this winter. Checked out Summit, and they had rebuild kits starting at like $350 I think it was. If getting a engine from a yard, I don't see why you wouldn't take the time to rebuild, specially since it is already out of the engine bay. That way you can also make sure that there aren't any internal problems like burnt or bad valves or rocker arms and crap like that. Then you also have the peice of mind that your engine should be in top top shape.
