I'm not finding that part anywhere online, but that's not to say it doesn't exist. I may have to take it in. What do you recommend - transmission shop or dealership???

My mother's 2000 dodge caravan wouldn't shift out of 1st gear once. Scared the crud out of me. Took it to a faithful repair guy i knew and he fixed it. But car was just a hunk of junk. I believe it was in the ECU related problem catagory. Her trans fluid also leaked so try checking that as well.
I have a truck at work that leaks trans fluid and if it gets too low, it won't upshift very easily and down shifts are neck breaking.
Brothers van had similiar problem and it was fixed for $45 in parts. Speed control and throttle position modules or something like that...
So, the dealer? - my dealer is a crook too, long story about how they claimed warranty work on my stang and how the sold, versus listed my extended warranty for the stang

In what sort of situation could claiming warranty work on your stang create a problem for you?

The only way to give you an extended warranty is to sell it too you, period. It is a product, therefore it gets "sold". If you meant to say that they were suppsed to "throw" the warranty in for free and it didn't show up on the paperwork like that it doesn't mean they were doing anything wrong or being crooks. In some states you can't type up a bank contract with a line item with a value of zero. As long as the car didn't end up costing more than you agreed on with the "free" warranty it doesn't matter anyway. A price is a price. If they sold it too you for $30K with a free warranty or sold it too you for $29K plus $1K for an extended warranty you didn't get charged incorrectly, there is no potential downside for you and $30K is $30K, it doesn't matter how you add it up.
Thye could also have made a mistake in the office when it was typed up but again, if the bottom line was what you agreed on it doesn't matter.

You are way off topic and have no clue what you are talking about. When warranty is sold a certain way to a customer and entered in the Ford system a complete different way (the finance mgr admitted to doing so in order for the GM to win a contest) it impacts the customer, when the customer seeks to return the warranty.
Now, back to topic, please.
