Default Steering wheel shake while braking.....

When I drive down the highway an I step on the brake to take an exit
the steering wheel starts to shake. This only happens at high speeds.
I don't feel steering wheel play when driving. I thought of the brake discs, but I recently installed a cobra brake kit from DISCBRAKES R US, so the discs are new. Also I tought of an alignment, new tires, but what do you think? I would apprreciate your

If the steering wheel starts to vibrate at a certain speed, but is fine above and below that, it's usually a sign of the tires being out of balance.

sometimes the rotors dont come perfect from the place you buy them. have them re-cut only if this started to happen right after your brake install.

I agree with Robert (Spyder)

I will always turn new rotors. It could be tires, but if it started after the brakes went on, I would turn the rotors.

Also check the inner and outter tie rod ends, wheel bearing adjustment, wheel lugs torqued to spec.

I have a similar problem, after having it checked out it turns out to be that the harmanic balancer is torn apart pretty good, so i have to get a new one. just thought you might wanna check it.

The problem is that I cannot cut them since they are cross drilled/sloted
I checked the rotors and the driver's side is the one that seems to be bent out of shape. Fortunately the brake kit is still under warranty, I contacted them and they will send me another set of rotors. I will update you when I replace them. THanks

thats why i didn't go cross drilled slot personally. i know guys have em and love em but i did not want to take the risk of getting a bad set. good thing you have a warranty!

I just went thru this and it was my rotors that I got from O'Reilly's. Took them back and replaced them with top of the line rotors with a lifetime warranty and everything is great. It was just a pain to do everything again. Live and learn.
