Default Oil Filters

Hey Guys!
What kind of oil filters do you guys use. My mechanic just told me to use the performance filters you can get at the ford dealerships, apparently they have a magnet in the middle to trap any metal pieces. How effective is this. What are the other good filters on the market?

I only use Motorcraft oil filters. I've seen too many Frams come apart.

I use Purolator Pure one on my GT. I come from Parts background so I get a sneak peak at inner workings of filters.
Fram is the worst. motorcrafts have more filter elements, Purolators are next, and Puro Pure Ones have the most element and protect up to 32 microns. K & N is probably better but is like $15 a filter, as opposed to $5 for Pure One's
(The part number is PL30001, and are blue.)
Hope This Helps.

I use the Motorcraft FL1HP. Cost is a little more but check out the amount of filter media vs brand X. Your Ford dealer might not stock it but can be ordered. Frank
