Default Lots of Different Questions (From a newbie)

Ok first I want to say sorry if this is in the wrong place, its my first time and this site looked pretty extensive. Anyway I know very little about cars but of course want to go fast and look cool. I have a 2002 3.8L v6 Ford Mustang, one of the reasons I went v6 is because the insurance was a ton cheaper - If i ever wanted to go v8 - how expensive would it be to get one and is there any problems changing them out - everything will fit ok right? Also would changing the engine include changing the fuel injection or is that seperate. Next are performance chips - was looking at super chips - good idea or bad idea? and finally a supercharger - looks really expensive but sounds awesome. Was looking at Vortech - good idea or bad idea? If you can answer any or all of my questions thanks in advance - sorry for the long post especially for my first one on this site.
-Ben

Ben:

Welcome to AFM!

About your Qs, i dont think doing a V8 swap is a good idea, unless you can find a cheap donor car. And if you do make sure the donor is a 99+ model.

The best route for you will be to get the Vortech kit, that will take you into GT power levels.
Add a good set of gears, like 3.55s or 3.73s

If you want more HP than a GT you are better off selling the V6 and buying a V8.
To get to 300 hp power levels you will definately need to improve the engine and full exhaust, not to mention many extras.

Or another option: TURBO, i bet theres a turbo kit for the 3.8, that will net you 30% or more HP than a supercharger. Just be carefull with the boost and have it tuned right.
