I have a 91 mustang and the gas gauge doen't work. I got a new tank and while they put it in they checked the sending unit to see if that was the problem but it wasn't. The problem must be a wireing one. Should I pay the money to trouble-shoot and fine the the problem, or should I just re-wire it? Have any tips or suggestions?

Have you tried grounding the wire to the sender to see if the gauge works? Ground the yellow/white wire back at the tank to check.

It still could be the sender. I have seen several senders work at different levels of fuel. I replaced one that when the fuel level was 3/4 it would not work. Had one that would work when full or empty, but nothing between the two.
