Default Trouble with my speedometer...

I put a T5 in my 67 and then i took the speedometer from the same car and put it into my 67 as well, now it all worked great till recently.. it just stoped working.. once inawhile it will bounce up.. but pretty much just sits at 0mph,, i checked the cable at both ends and its connected.. so i dont know what i should do buy a new one? or is there somthing i can try? i really want to get an autometer 160 mph electronic spedo so i can get rid of that cable.. but i dont have 200$ for that right now so if some one has an idea i can try let me know!

Thanks

Jason, it is most likely the cable, or the gears in the tranny
