Default Oil Accumulators

Does anyone have an oil accumulator on their car with the electronic valve for pre-lubing? I have a question that common knowledge wont solve so anyone who has seen the setup or has one... help?

No, don't have one but I heard about them many times. What is your question. Maybe we can take a stab at it.

Ok, I got the Moroso kit. 1.5 qt accumulator. nothings special. Well I also got the electric solenoid as well, said it can be used as a preluber. I pulled it apart to where i could attach the wires, and its got 2 wire hookups, and a ground. all it says on the instructions is have hot wire to fuse, then fuse to toggle switch then switch to solenoid. which side? does it matter? also, there is no motor, it appears to be an electromagnet operation. cant i just bypass the toggle and run it off the switched side of the starter solenoid. comes on with key, shuts off with key. There is no motor, so is it ok to run all the time? I dont get it, there is not installation instructions as far as which side of the filter (sandwhich adapter inlet and outlet fittings for remote oil cooler) does it go on? before or after the accum? I thought ok, no prob, oil change ill just hook it up no prob. the only prob is the damn solenoid looks like just a valve, not a pump. how does it act as a pre-luber? other than that.. no probs...

hhhmmm, your right, a head scratcher. First I would call Moroso and ask for a more detailed instruction, or maybe a tech line support.
I would assume that a pre-luber has to be installed at an area that will pressurize the oilling system. Problably at the oil sending unit junction. Also I would imagine that they do not want it to run while the engine is also running because it will conflict. Oil is being pumped one way from the luber and oil is being pumped the other way by the engine oil pump.

As for the wiring, I would say that it would matter which way it is connected to the solenoid any markings on the solenoid to help you out?

Just thought of something. If it is called an accumulator then it must store energy until it is ready to be used. Probably previously pressurized oil from when the engine is running. Then it must store this oil (pressurized) until you flip the switch and then it sends oil back into the engine just before you start it. What do you think?

Well the accumulator itself fills with the extra 1.5 qts once the engine is up and running, then when the oil pressure drops (problem or shutdown) it releases its capacity out of the tube, its a plunger with air pressure on one side and oil on the other, whut stops it from releasing it back down towards the pan as opposed to towards the oil cooler and return of the oil filter adapter?

OK.
Called Summit Tech today. The solenoid valve does act as a pump when allowing the oil thru. There is no motor, just an electromagnet that drives the opening and closing of the valve. I can hook it to the switched side of the starter solenoid because it is supposed to run all the time when the engine is on.. And Electromagnets have a 1/2 life of about 50,000 years. so I shouldnt have to worry about no oil pressure.
Im hooking it into the return line of the Oil filter sandwhich adapter so that i dont have to support it with anything, a pipe fitting holds it up. Thanx for the attempt guyz, Moroso just wanted you to have their switch panel and buy more stuff from them, then it wouldve made sense. Just shows im smarter than them.

I considered getting an oil accumulator for my 89 and still may. From everything I had read it should also work as a pre-oiler. That is one of the big advantages. Pumps oil through the engine before starting, to reduce dry startup. Adam, could the model you have not include this feature. Strange but possible. I agree with Frank, call Moroso and get the scoop right from the horse's mouth
