Default AFR heads

I've looked at all of the postings on this web page and the only high end head that most people are discussing is the Twisted Flow heads. I've looked at the AFR 165 and was real interested in this head. I saw a few of them run on Cobras at the Cobra Club event at Sears Point (not sure which AFR head they were exactly). I have looked at articles in Ford magazines that are very positive on the AFR heads and have seen the AFR website and know that the 165's are emission legal in CA. Is there any particular reason why Twisted Flow heads might be prefered over the AFR's????

Any information would very much be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Default AFR Heads

I've been porting heads for 22 years and rarely have I seen so badly made casting as AFR make.(IMO)
I think the reason for people use TFS instead of other heads that are not ported cause TFS flow more than the others out of the box,and with about 1 1/2 hrs of work in each port TFS flow about 30-40 cfm more than non ported TFS or for that matter any head in that catagory.
Yes other heads can flow 30-40 cfm over out of the box but with more than 1 1/2 hours of work in each port

This my personal opinion and others may differ which is normal but I've had better luck with TFS and SH*T results (Sh*t casting Quality) with AFR (I don't mean they are Crappy flowing just Crappy workmanship)... (full of air pin holes in the castings and ugly finish)...

Default Re: AFR Heads

I've heard this about the AFR heads too. The guy that ported my TFS heads said they where one of the best he has seen. He did not care for the AFR heads.
