yup, it will probably be more trouble then it is worth and the total costs for labor and other parts will come close to what the GT would have cost you. Now if you can get all the parts cheap and do all the work yourself it may be worth your while. If I where you I would look for a cobra engine and not a gt if you are going to do it but to each thier own.
