Default will a auto eec work on a 5speed?

I want to convert to mass air 88 5.0 5speed car. I maybe able to get a eec meter tubes and all from a 89 5.0 auto cheap but will it work?

I actually read that the auto computer offers a small benefit to a 5 spd as the fuel and timing curves are a little more aggressive.

When I swapped from an AOD-E to a TKO I had to ditch the automatic computer. The computer would constantly do some kind of timing retard in anticipation for the AOD-E to shift. This resulted in a rediculous hesitation. It was costing me around a full second in the 1320. That could just be the '94 computer. You probably wouldn't notice that with a pre '94 car since those AODs aren't computer controlled.
