There should be a ring under the dash somewhere. Unplug it and it wll stop working.

Or take the key out

i got it!!!
when you look under the drivers side dash look as far to the center of the car as possible, you will see a bunch of wires going into a white plug, all you have to do is unplug it, i used a key to pry up the prong but a screw driver would work better, if you cant find it put your keyes in your car and open the door and look, you will find it real fast, it only took me like a minute to find it and un hook it
ryan
ps use a light, it helps

Hrm... I bought a 1998 Mustang GT and I'd LIKE to have the beeping back if I leave my lights on and turn off the car or at least when I open the door... I've forgotten to turn them off on a few occassions & it's been enough to kill my battery :>. Would this plug have any sort of effect on this? Thanks!

I wanted to do the same thing with my truck when I leave the doors open to listen to the radio. The sensor for most ford vehicles these days is in the latch. (not sure about stangs) but the way i usually do it is to just use my key to latch the door and un do it before i close the door. It stops the annoying beeping so i can listen to the stereo. just my .02.

If you can take out the lock cylinder there is a metal tab on it. Remove the tab and viola no more bell .
