Question 6 Bolt 8 bolt crank

I have my car in the shop getting a new clutch set, the guy who is doing the work called me tonight and said he was suprised to see a 8 bolt crank in my gt and asked me if I wan't to go with a 11 inch clutch kit instead of the 10.5 I picked out.
Also he stated that he had the kit with the new fly wheel it would only cost about 50 bucks more.
My question is, Did 2000 GT's have a 8 bolt crank? Or is this rare?
He said they are in the cobra, does this mean it's fordged?
Any info will help.

Thanks

Just reading the FRP catalog. Romeo built engines have 6 bolt cranks while Windsor built have 8 bolt cranks. All Cobra engines have 8 bolt. A Cobra 11" clutch kit is around $300.00 in the 2002 catalog. More surface area is always better. Save your old flywheel.

Whats up i have a 2000 Mustang GT and I was wondering if there is any way that you can tell if the car has a 6 or 8 bolt crank..And if so what would be the best clutch setup (company & size)..Thanks

You have a 8 bolt windsor crank, T-45 transmission and the King Cobra will work well for you.
