Default The lineup...94-5 Gt, Cobra, 98 Gt, or...

Alright people...the time has come...need a college car so i gotta part with my '69 coupe
(selling for 4500 by the way, drop a line if you're interested)
but yeah so i need a newer, faster, more reliable car...of course Im sticking with stangs till the end...so heres the deal...
I got 11K to burn and so I was wondering...whats the overall best mustang i can get...
The choices are:
94-5 Gt, 215 hp
98 Gt, 225 hp
94-5 Cobra 240 hp
all can be had for under 11,000
or there's always the infidel....i have a 00 ACURA 3.2 TL...it boasts 225 hp... but COME ON!! its an FF AND a V6 so im not very inclined to take it
SO !...Cast your VOTE...which would you guys take?...take into account reliability, what will break...what will go wrong? I'd prefer feedback from currrent or past gt and cobra owners...
ps. mods will be scarce if any so going for higher displacement and going crazy on mods isnt gunna work... exhaust and gears is prolly gunna be it...
So...whadaya guys think?..feedback's much appreciated..

I’d go for a 94-95 SN95, whatever it is, just because it's a 5.o ;P
5.0 has more parts out there, is cheaper to fix, and easier too I think, u can always go at it with a hammer, duct tape and a mighty war cry, works for me.
4.6's are a little more complex; it takes some actual mechanical knowledge to fix those urself rather than just common sense and intuition

Plus for 11k u can get a 95GT with low miles and still have enough left over for intake, heads, exhaust, gears and a haircut.. can't loose

yeah thats what i was thinking about the 5.0....
but even the 95, come next spring, will be 10 years old...
and whatever money I don't spend on the car, I can't keep, parents arent too keen on letting me build some sort of "race car"...lol that means I gotta buy one...

I dont really know much about 94-95 cobra.. But i'd never get a 94-5 5.0, especially when i could get a 94-95 cobra.. I'd get a 96 over a 94 or 95... Personaly i'd go with a 4.6

I support the 94-95 Cobra for all the reasons stated above, especially if you want a car that doesn't need much if anything done to it to be really fun and reliable.

Also, your timing is good because I know a guy in our Cobra club who is thinking of selling his 95 Cobra to get a newer one... low miles and here in the LA area.

Send me a PM if you are interested...

Funny stuff??? Oh the spray.... When it was close to stock it was in the mid to high 13's on street tires. The 94-95 Cobras were soo detuned from the factory it's not even funny thats' the reason for the horrible HP ratings. All it takes is a few simple tweeks to really awaken these things. I have friends with 4.6 Cobras and there great cars and they really like to rev but I'll take my trusty 5.0 any day gotta love the TORQUE, parts are cheeper then the 4.6 and I can work on it myself.

The 5.0 is a pushrod motor.

The biggest thing holding back the car was the crappy computer tune and the Cam. Just do the usual bolt-on's, Gears, exhaust ,CAI, Pro-M mass air meter, and get a custom dyno tune to get rid of the crappy factory programing.
